Always in His Name

I'm trying to decide what we will do this Christmas as a family. Every holiday becomes a little more stressful because we seem to want it to be better than the last (for the kids, of course). And, then, we end up focusing on what is NOT important. As always, I just want our kids to focus on Jesus and OTHERS at Christmastime. I am thinking we will participate in Adopt-a-Family with the Phoenix Rescue Mission again this year. It's always a very sobering, yet somehow, uplifting experience to drive downtown through the highly populated homeless neighborhoods with a car full of food and gifts to deliver. Connor always says he loves it (when we drive downtown)...he says he likes the "old houses". How about that perspective? I know this is an awesome program and we love to participate...especially since the Phoenix Rescue Mission is a Christian organization that teaches all who come through their doors about Jesus. But I guess this year I am just thinking there must be something MORE we can do. I just don't know what! I just feel like we have such good intentions but so rarely follow through on those intentions. So, this year I hope we can come up with something special that will make a lasting impression on my kids and the people we hope to help...all in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus! Always in the name of Jesus! If it weren't for Him, living in us, we wouldn't have the desire to help in the first place! Thank you God for showing us and allowing us to be your hands and feet.
