We have a string of visitors lately. First was my sister Jill and her hubby, Kevin. Now my parents and 2 youngest siblings, Jon and Christa are visiting. The end of the school year is coming fast and furious and I'm STILL trying to figure out God's will for me. I thought I had some clarity and then, BAM, something else happens. Oh, the uncertainty. So, I'm going to tell ya'll about some of my life's simple joys.
Here goes....I lost 3 pounds this week! That was pretty cool. Then, I saw the new Jenny Craig commercial with Jason Alexander dancing in a leotard and laughed out loud. I watched Food, Inc. and adopted a whole new attitude about what I will eat. I had a conversation with Connor about how we use to think he looked like Spongebob with his big blue eyes and gappy front teeth. One morning, Payton cried in my arms because I gave up something I "love" to be home with her and Connor (those are her words, not mine). I got to be the granter of 2 "wishes" and see both families take their children on trips to Disneyland and Disney World that they thought they may never get to take. Jim came home from an extended trip and looked super handsome in his "business attire". And, Sophie (the dog) makes me feel more loved when I walk into the house than most people make me feel on a regular basis (haha). God knew what he was doing when he created dogs! ;-)
So, there ya go....nothing profound. Nothing earth-shattering. Just some of the simple stuff. Oh, wait! I take that back. Here is something profound I learned, or I should say, have been reminded.... When you're bogged down with decisions, uncertainty or pressure, don't miss the little details, the simple joys. God is in the details!
